"There's more to life
than computers!"
One of the things I ask myself regularly is something
similar to "How do I use my time? Is there anything I do
with my time other than work with computers?" I set out in
search of that answer and I found I'm not quite as boring
as I thought.
If money were not an object, I would spend more time soaring. I have been a licensed glider pilot since 1979. Soaring and cycling have a couple things in common, the primary one is one's ability to forget everything else when you are in the peleton or in a thermal. "Altimeter, brakes..."
Model Railroading seems to have become a job as well as a hobby since Consultant Alliance has gotten so many hobby related customers recently. I have gone in and out of the hobby several times over the last 30 years but never expect to go away for good. A couple of years ago, I took a class at PCC about model building and we created this diorama depicting Pasadena during the late 30's/early 40's.
Camping is something I like to do about 3 or 4 weekends a years, more than that and I have computer withdrawals. Mineral King and Mojave are nice places to visit but there is no power let alone, phone lines. (I would like to show you Mojave but most people would not approve. We go there to among other things, shoot firearms.)
Disneyland is a great place to visit, although it has become tarnished for me over the past few years. I am still the biggest kid in the park (6'3") and know where just about everything is located. I must really be crazy about Disneyland to go there on July 17, 1995, the 40th anniversary day.
Christmas Time, one of my other favorite times of the year.
That's about all that's fit to print. I hope this enlightens you on what I'm all about. If you have any ideas for resources for any of thes topics, drop me a note.
